Are these doors made of solid wood?
Modern Doors are constructed from a sturdy and durable solid pine frame. The frame is 1 ½’’ wide and undergoes several drying processes in special heating chambers to maintain the wood humidity level at 8%. The thickness of the frame can range from 1 9/16’’ to 1 ¾’’ depending on the door model.
Depending on the door model, Modern Doors may have two types of core: solid core or honeycomb core. The solid core is a technologically advanced, eco-friendly filling made from high-density natural wood fiber. This type of filling provides additional durability, noise reduction, and thermal insulation. The honeycomb core has filling made up of honeycomb cells, which provide additional lightness to the door while still retaining high noise reduction and thermal insulation qualities. This type of filling also protects the hinges from extra load.
We use high-quality solid pine in the production of our frames, which makes them rigid and durable enough to hold an 8’ solid core door slab.
