Shipping and Delivery
Modern Doors is committed to providing customers with the best possible service, competitive prices, and convenient shipping policies. Per our policy, the delivery charges are the customer's responsibility.
When you are ready to purchase, please proceed to the checkout. At the checkout, you will be prompted to enter your shipping address to view the available shipping methods and their prices. Please remember that the pricing options are calculated based on the product's weight, size, and destination.
We provide the most affordable shipping methods at the checkout. However, in some cases, we may require more time to calculate the shipping fees. If that is the case, we will contact you separately with a detailed quote for your delivery. We will inform you as soon as possible if there are additional shipping or handling costs. These extra charges depend on the package's weight, size, and destination. If you wish to avoid these fees, you can cancel or modify your order and receive a full refund.
Once you have placed your order, you will receive a confirmation email confirming receipt. After your order has been shipped, you will receive a second email with the shipping details. If your order requires multiple shipments, you will receive further email confirmations. Please keep these emails (invoices) for your records.
Once the order has been processed, it will be shipped either through LTL for more oversized items or carriers for smaller items. Please note that all shipments are at the customer's expense. LTL (Less-than-truckload) shipments offer curbside delivery by default unless the customer requests otherwise, which will be at their expense. The shipment time will vary depending on the destination. If you have any questions or concerns about placing an order outside of Canada, please get in touch with Modern Doors directly.
Please note:
- The shipping carrier provides insurance for the shipments.
- If the buyer needs to change the delivery date or address, they must send the updated information in written form and call our office within 24 hours of placing the order.
- For pre-hung orders (excluding single-door units), the door frame will be shipped disassembled to prevent damage. Assembling the frame only requires screws and a screwdriver, and all other necessary parts are included.
- Curbside delivery service means your item will be delivered to the curb at the end of your driveway. Please note that we do not provide shipment placement on the driveway, sidewalk, or house, nor do we provide package removal.
Address restrictions.
Orders cannot be shipped to P.O. boxes. Please provide a valid physical address at checkout.
Shipping time.
This period covers when the order leaves the warehouse and arrives at your chosen location.
Order policy.
We accept orders by phone, e-mail, or our online shop.
Standard processing time.
- Stock items will ship within 7-14 business days + shipping from the warehouse.
- Custom orders (special orders) will ship within 14-16 weeks (12 weeks with air expedited shipping) + shipping from the warehouse.
- Individually designed orders will have a time frame to be determined.
Shipping your order.
All orders are shipped via ground truck freight delivery. Before shipment, a representative from the company will contact you to schedule a convenient date for delivery. You will receive all the necessary information, including contact numbers, tracking numbers, complete carrier information, and estimated turnaround times.
As the buyer, you must work with the delivery company in your area to choose a delivery time on the scheduled date. For safe handling of the product, it is recommended to have at least 2-3 people present to move the door from the pallet, as the product is quite heavy.
Please note that Modern Doors cannot be held responsible for any personal injury or product damage that may occur while removing the product from the delivery truck and placing it inside the required space.
Please note:
When you receive your order, we recommend thoroughly inspecting it for any damage or shortage while the delivery driver is still present. In case of damage, you must follow the instructions below:
1. Take pictures of the damaged package and any visible damages while the package is being unpacked.
2. Describe all damages and shortages on the freight bill.
3. Open the package and inspect each item for any other visible damages.
4. Take pictures of all damages and send a report to Modern Doors within 48 hours.
5. You will receive a response from your sales representative within 48 hours.
Please note that shipping payments are made directly by Modern Doors. The buyer is not required to pay any fees to the carrier company or its representatives at any time during delivery unless the buyer chooses to do so at their own expense. Modern Doors will not refund any such payments.
Please keep in mind the information below:
- If the delivery address provided is incorrect or inaccessible, the buyer is responsible for paying the total purchase price and additional delivery charges. Please make sure to receive the order from the agreed delivery address. Modern Doors will not be responsible for any damages that occur if the order is picked up from the freight company's service center or any other location other than the agreed address.
- It is important to carefully inspect the order upon delivery. Modern Doors will not be held responsible for damages not noted on the carrier company's paperwork.
- The buyer is responsible for opening the boxes and checking the order's contents, as the driver will not open or uncrate the order.
- Once the door unit has been installed, no shortage or damage can be claimed, as the door installation implies the buyer's acceptance of the order.
- Modern Doors provides the convenience of direct deliveries to our loyal customers. The customer must have an agent and facilities available to accept all merchandise deliveries according to orders placed with the vendor for shipment to the customer's office, warehouse, job sites, or any other designated location. The customer is fully responsible for any freight demurrage, hold-over, and similar charges arising out of, connected with, or relating to the customer's failure to fulfill its obligations under the terms of the clause- regardless of the shipment's origin or the consignor.
